Marienforst Tour

During this tour we will visit the former Chinese embassy on Rigal’sche Wiese.  The Bonn branch of the embassy of the People’s Republic of China has been here since 2015.  After this we will stroll along the Prince Elector promenade past the Bad Godesberg Town Hall towards the park to the former residence of the Spanish ambassador.  The legal firm of Tunkl and Partner have kindly offered us a private viewing of this lovely house.  The we’ll drop into the Redoute, the  last Prince Elector’s ballroom, which was the social centre of politics and diplomacy during the Bonn Republic.

At our next stop we’ll have a private viewing in the Villa d’Esta on Brunnenallee, which was the residence of the ambassador of Monaco from 1992-2002. The owner, Esta Maria Sedlmayr, offers regular exhibitions and sales of art and antiques in her elegant, neo-classical house.  We will then continue on this street of historic houses to the Draitschbrunnen, the mineral water spring (from which Bad Godesberg gets the title Bad in its name) where you may sample the mineral water and find out more about the older fountain complex .

Then follows a beautiful walk through Marienforster Promenade to the former residence of the Indian ambassador in the Marienforster manor house.  We will view this from outside and hear details about the 25 years of Indian presence in this rural, Rhineland ambience before strolling back to the centre of Bad Godesberg.
