Embassy tour to China

For the first time since the Chinese diplomats moved from Bonn to Berlin in 1999 what is now the Bonn branch of the embassy of The People’s Republic of China is opening its doors to the interested public.  In the autumn of 2015 after standing empty for 16 years the Bonn branch was opened for business.

Exclusive Visit to the Bonn branch of the Chinese embassy

Once a month from March to November a special embassy tour offers us the chance of an exclusive visit.  The guests will be greeted by the Counsellor Miaozhen Zhu and led through the beautiful house and park. We will have the opportunity to see a short film about everyday life in China and, as a high point, take part in a tea ceremony in the tea house .

After this visit we will continue our walk along the Prince Elector promenade and recall the diplomatic era in the Redoute, which was originally the last Prince Elector’s ballroom.

The foundation stone for the new Chinese Embassy was laid in 1982.  In 1984 the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China  was formally opened and served as the Chinese embassy in the German Federal capital of Bonn until 1999.
